(CNN) — Fears for the fate of more than 200 Nigerian girls turned even more nightmarish Monday when the leader of the Islamist militant group that kidnapped them announced plans to sell them.
“I abducted your girls. I will sell them in the market, by Allah,” a man claiming to be Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau said in a video first obtained by Agence France-Presse. “There is a market for selling humans. Allah says I should sell. He commands me to sell. I will sell women. I sell women,” he continued, according to a CNN translation from the local Hausa language. Boko Haram is a terrorist group receiving training from al Qaeda affiliates, according to U.S. officials. Its name means “Western education is sin.” In his nearly hourlong, rambling video, Shekau repeatedly called for Western education to end. Let us pray and fight today for these women in Nigeria together. Let us call out to the one true God who can and will save them by the blood of Jesus!
“Father, in the name of Jesus. You see these young women. In fact, your word says that if they make their bed in hell, You are there. You are right there with them. They did not choose to make their bed in hell Lord, but here they are making their bed each and every night in hell on Earth. Comfort them, hold them, and deliver them Jesus.
You also say that as they walk in the midst of trouble that you will revive them. You will stretch out Your hand against the wrath of their enemies, and Your right hand will save them. Just as the Israeli slaves were pursued by their enslavers you freed them by your right hand and caused the Red Sea to separate them from their captors. We ask you today to send forth your Moses to these precious ladies and bring about their deliverance and separate these girls from their enemies. Intervene on their behalf today Lord. Make them bold as lions in the face of this demonic persecution, infuse them with hope, and righteous anger. Provide opportunities for them to escape and protection from the elements. Bring about distractions left and right and move Lord, move. Let the wicked fall into their own nets, while the girls escape safely.
Your word says that Your right hand shall hold them. That even if the darkness of this world shall fall on them that even the night shall be light about them because the darkness shall not hide from You. I am calling out today for your miraculous streams in the desert.
Keep them literally from the hands of these wicked men and preserve them from the violent men that have them. You are their God. You are their strength and their salvation. You have covered their head in the day of battle Lord, do not grant the desires of the wicked and do not further his wicked scheme.
Attend to their cry for they are brought very low…bring their souls out of prison that they may praise your name and know that it was You who saved them. You are mighty to save. In Jesus Name!! Amen
